Get NZ Writing

In Te Maunga we have been making some metaphor poems which is apart of the Get NZ Writing Challenge.  We had to write what kind of vehicle we were, what type of building we would be and more to send to Wellington.

First we had to type our metaphors down on a document then we put one of our sentences on the postcard. So last would have to be decorating,we did that and put it together. This is what it looks like. And also here is my postcard that I made.😀😀😀😁.  I think I did good in this ativity but I will try and think of better metaphors next time.

Bella's Tryathlon

In Te Maunga we have been learning how to write recounts and to put more interesting words in our writing. Also on Friday Paihia School did a triathlon so that is what wrote about. Here is my recount that I made.

On Friday  Paihia school had a tryathlon. I was wishing I hadn’t gone to school. I was sitting on the court when I had just realised Mrs Williams had started talking so I listened. “First of all we are going to walk to the beach, then we will start the swimming, then run back to school, hop on a bike and race.  Then we are done.”   She explained. Secretly I really didn’t want to do it but I had no choice.

Mrs Williams had a little talk to us about the course. In no time we started the races. First Te Ngahere went. It was so hot in the boiling sun watching them in the water.  Second Te Maunga (My class.)  Because I didn’t go for a bath in the sea I had to run ahead of the girls, some of them didn’t think it was fair. “I feel like a flat tyre” I said to myself while I was running.  We just kept running as fast as we could to get back to school.

I grabbed my bike put on my shoes and placed my helmet on my head. I got down to Whaea Becks but something strange was happening I couldn’t pedal so I looked down and realised that my chain had fallen off. I felt like a sad puppy because I had to dash all the way across the field . It was so hard but I was happy because all my friends were cheering for me.

At the end I felt like a balloon that had been deflated. That changed quickly because we got a muesli bar it was amazing. We got to have a ice cream from the Whare Kai. I got a Finding Dory one.  We got to have some fun then back in the classroom. What a busy day.  

Working with Te Ngahere

In Te Maunga we have been working in Te Ngahere. We had to show what we have learn't throughout the year. Some People did a Pepeha others did maths. We had three choices to to show our learning they were... Thing-link Powtoon and Screencastify.  Me and my buddie Lilli-rose made a powtoon about our pepeha, it took 3 days. 0:  We were buddies because our pepeha is the same. Now I am going to tell you my pepeha.

I had fun doing this activity because it helps other people learn and we got to use lots of different tools
