Review:

This was a real hard task but at the end I realised what I needed to write down. I also need to realise which was a fact and which wasn't a fact. Also with the letter I did it in Maori because they probaly didn't know what english was. I also loved the bonas activity. But overall I found it fun and I give it ☆☆☆☆☆ stars.

I am so excited for tomorrow!!

Camp

On the 27th of November Te Maunga and Te Moana went to Coopers Beach for camp. It was so much fun! There were lots of cool activities like the water slide, confidence course and kayaking. We had these really awesome dorms with bunks. I was at the top bunk next to Tia, Ataahua and Tayla. We had the best chefs there who made us breakfast, lunch and dinner. We also had awesome parents who helped us with obstacles and loads of the activities.  The last day we went down for a swim at the beach. It was so warm and there was really big waves. It was a shame we had to go home. My favourite part about camp was the water slide and confidence course.

Once we got back from camp on 29th we had to create a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about it. Payton, Vinnie and I made a trailer. We added awesome effects and great sounds. I think I did well creating the trailer but I could do better by not getting caught up in awesome effects.

Here is my trailer.

Camp

Te Maunga and Te Moana are about to go to camp on Monday. We are so excited because we are going to the beach, there is going to be a waterslide and best of all there is going to be a confidence course. I am going to be bunking with Tayla so she can keep me company when I get homesick. On Wednesday when I get back I promise I will post about it.
Keep Cool!!

The Plague

In Te Maunga one of our chapter chat tasks this week was to reaserch the plague. Lilli-Rose, Indie and I  have been doing a slide-show together about it. We found it very interesting and maybe a little bit desturbing. I think I did well making the slideshow but I could do better by adding more info.

Here is our slideshow.

Recount About Waka Ama

In Te Maunga we have been writing a recount about waka ama. If you don't know what waka ama is then just click this link to my blog post about waka ama. I think I did well writing this recount but I could do better by adding detail.

Our WALT was: Write a qaulity recount.

Here is my recount

Waka Ama

Getting into my clothes, breakfast getting shoved down my throat. I was excited for waka ama. Te Maunga was about to have the best time in Waitangi. The first thing we did was get changed, gather our stuff together and jump into the car. I was jumping around at the front of Rachel's car. Everyone else in the car were oblivious because they were just focusing on who was sitting next to them and not the one at the front.

Once we got to Waitangi I was still acting like a bunny who had been given a packet full of carrots. Constable Rob was talking to us about what the parts of the waka are, how to control the waka and how to put on a life jacket. In my mind I was just wanting Rob to hurry up so we could get into the waka. My wish did not come true :(. On the positive side it only took him 5 more minutes to finish his little chat.

I wasn’t in the first group who went on the waka, I was on the second. Once butt hit the chair there was an instant regret. I didn’t really want to go on the waka because I thought it was going to tip. I used my hoe of kaha and didn’t hop off. It didn’t tip of course and I was really happy that I didn’t hop off.

We were close to the end of the session so Isaiah, Isaiah, Rikesh, Liam, Ricardo, Rikki-Dean and I decided to go and have a look at the end of the beach. We were going crab hunting, we weren’t actually going to kill the crabs we just wanted to see them. Some of us lifted up a humongous rock, to our surprise there were billions of crabs. I ran away because I was not going to get nipped by one of those snapping creatures.

It was now the end of the session we all ready for morning tea.. We zoomed to the car, buckled our seat belts and headed to school. I will never ever forget that day!

Waka Ama

On Tuesday Te Maunga went to Waitangi to do waka ama. We learned what the parts of the waka are called and how to paddle the waka. It was a lot of fun!! At the end we went down to the end of the beach to find some crabs. There was a lot of them. At the end of the session we were all pooped. Lilli- Rose became paddler of the day but we all tried our best. I think I did well at the waka ama session but I could do better by focusing on being in time with the person in front of me.
