On your blog tell us whether you think logging should be allowed in New Zealand. Be sure to provide at least two reasons to support your argument.
I do not think logging should be allowed in New Zealand. Firstly it cuts down trees that lots of our wildlife live in. I know it makes houses but don't we have more than enough. Paper on the other hand, it is the 20th century and we all use technology now. Secondly we need trees to breathe. They create oxygen the we breathe in. So why would we be cutting down trees if it is the reason we are alive. SO DON'T CUT DOWN TREES!!!
Activity 2: Living on the edge
On your blog, write a letter to your best friend or a family member telling them about your trip to the tundra. To earn full points your letter must have a greeting (eg. Dear…) followed by 5 – 6 sentences of information about what your experience.
Dear Jackson,
Guess what on Friday I got to go to Tundra. It was so exciting but very cold. It was -15 degrees. Did you know the word Tundra comes from a Finnish word Tuntiri which means treeless land or barren land? Guess what while we were taking a walk we saw and Arctic Fox and even a reindeer. The class decided to call the Reindeer Fiona and the Arctic Fox Foxy. It was such a fun trip!! Maybe Jackson one day you and Charlotte to go visit it. If you do don't forget to invite me.
Yours Sincerely,
Bella
Activity 3: Going...going... GONE
New Zealand, beaches everywhere you look around, beautiful scenery with amazing creatures. Tourists everywhere are kayaking around amazing islands. Lots of different walks around the alive forests. Dolphin cruises with spectacular wildlife. Breathtaking views with amazing houses. Strange but cute animals. Amazing Life!!!
Dear Bella,
ReplyDeleteAmazing letter to your brother. I liked how you added what you named the animals.
Keep up the good work,
ALexandria.
Kia Ora AJ,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback on my blog. How did you know Jackson was my brother?
Thanks again
Bella
Kia ora Bella,
ReplyDeleteGreat job on this weeks last activity (day 5). You did an awesome job. Also, great job on your letter to Jackson! And amazing reasons to stop logging.
Keep up the great work!
Taleisha
Hi Taleisha,
DeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. I love how you liked my argument on why we should stop logging. Your blog post was just as exquisite.
Have a nice Birthday :)
Bella
Hi Bella,
ReplyDeleteWell done on finishing your first week of the Summer Learning Journey! It is so wonderful to see you actively blogging and commenting again this year. I know your positive, thoughtful and helpful comments are being received well from your classmates! I'm sure they are really appreciating your support with this programme.
Your letter to Jackson was very well written. I like that you included things you've done and seen, the temperature and the meaning behind the name of Tundra, I had never realised that was where the name had come from.
For your final activity, to ensure you get full points I would love for you to include a few more details! Could you tell me some of the destinations within NZ that are worth visiting and some of the activities a tourist could do that are unique to New Zealand? The first activity that comes to my mind is taking the ferry over to Urupukapuka Island and hiking to the top of the hills for the beautiful 360 degree views of the ocean. I think that is one of my absolute favourite things to do in the Bay of Islands!
Have a wonderful weekend Bella and have a Merry Christmas.
Nga mihi, Georgia.
Hi Georgia,
DeleteThanks a lot for the feedback. I will edit the blog post and add some more information about New Zealand.
Have a nice weekend!!
Bella
