  2. He became the first All Black to reach 100 Tests in 2011.
  3. His middle name is Hugh.

Activty 2: On your blog tell us about your sporting hero. Who are they? Why are they a hero? Include a photo of them in your blog post.

Ali Riley: She is really talented and she is the football ferns captain and she worked hard to get to captain.  Riley won the WPS Rookie of the Year award.

  1. Kia Ora Bella,
Wow! You have almost finished all of the activities! You have done some great research here about Richie McCaw, Ali Riley and salsa dancing. Ka pai! Did you know that Richie McCaw’s wife is Gemma Flynn who also represented New Zealand in sport, internationally. They are a very fit couple! I didn’t realise there was such a age gap between them. He has played 148 tests for the All Blacks over his career , 110 of them were as captain! No wonder so many people look up to him.
It’s great to read about a member of the Football Ferns! I don’t really follow football so it is great to learn a bit more about one of the players. Does she play football in any other countries? I know it is quite common for football players to spend some time in Europe playing because football is more popular over there. Do you play football in your spare time?
I didn’t realise that salsa was created when two cultures came together! I think that’s awesome that a new style of dance was created in a collaboration. Have you ever ever a sasa dancing either in person or in a video?
Keep up the awesome work, Bella!
