Summer Learning Journey W3 D5

Ok today I am going to be making it a bit more fun by adding hunger games stuff.

Activity 1:
On your blog, share three new things that you learned about air pollution from this video.

1. Greenhouse gases increases... smog, rise in mold & more pollen.

2. Smog usually comes around when there has been a volcanic eruption or plant life effects.

3. Algae is a main cause of pollution. (Thats crazy)

Activity 2: On your blog, tell us about five things that you like to do when it is too rainy to go outside..

1. Go outside and play around (On the trampoline)
2. Watch movies( I do that all the time)
3. Play with Tia, AJ, Jamie & Liam ( I already do this)
4. Reading ( The Hunger Games)
5. Go on my Chromebook ( I do that a lot)

Activity 3: On your blog write a short story about what happened when you walked outside to the aftermath of a acid rain.

It took a bit of force but I finally got my door open. My neighbourhood was no longer what it use to be. Everything looked dull and no longer in colour. The acidic rain has ruined everything. The grass is no longer its vibrant green. The roses have lost their neon red. I hate to say it but I think almost everything had died. I walk about half 400m to my friends farm. She comes out side with the saddest smile I have ever seen. I ask if I can come inside. She agrees and takes me to the back of the house where I find 9 cows dead lying there. Peaceful but dead. She says "The acid rain killed all of the animals and ruined everything" I try to apologise and stop everything that has happened.... but I can't.

In the beautiful sights just before dawn you see the Matariki. The seven sisters Tupu-a-nuku, Tupu-a-rangi-Waipunarangi, Waiti, Waita, Ururangi and Matariki. The seven sisters otherwise known the Seven Stars. All 7 beautiful sisters were flying there kites when the wind went out of control. One by one the sisters flew up to the stars. Maori legend say that when you look up at the stars you can still see their beautiful faces.
-Sorry I really wanted to do one I was taught.

Activity 3: CRAZY COOL CLOUDS
On your blog, tell us what you see in the photo. What shape(s) do you see? Be sure to tell us which picture (1, 2 or 3) you have chosen and describe what you see in lots of detail!

I have chosen picture 1. If any of you have heard of the story Winnie the pooh or Christopher Robin. It looks like eeyore sitting down pointing at something. It is a really beautiful cloud. Also eeyore is my favourite character which was cool. In the photo his ears are huge and he looks quite lazy.

  • Bumblebees can fly very quickly. They can reach ground speeds of 3.2 kilometres per hour (km/h).
  • Bumblebees are very strong! They carry up to 90 percent of their body weight in food with them to avoid starvation.
  • Bumblebees can do more work and carry more pollen than other bees, including honeybees. In fact, they can do up to   54 times as much work as a normal honeybee.
  • The number of bumblebees is declining in New Zealand due to a number of factors, including the  removal of wildflowers and flowering trees, habitat loss, and extensive use of pesticides. ...hum, buzz, or drone

Melted Marshmallows
Cottage Cheese
Fish 🐟🐟
Ice Cream
Melted lollies

Activity 3: On your blog, tell us how you would solve this tricky maths problem. Be sure to also post your final answer in days or weeks.

Let’s imagine that we tested the air in your classroom and found 7 different kinds of mould. Eek! The cleaner says that it takes 5 days for each mould to be eradicated (removed). If the school had to remove each mould one at a time, how long would it take to remove all the mould from the classroom?

35 days.
Since it takes 5 days to get rid of 1 type of mould then just times it to be 7x5. That is 35 days.
